Congregation of St Albans and Luton

The German Lutheran Congregation of St Albans & Luton was founded in the 1950s by former Prisoners of War and young families who had settled in the area. Ever since there have been German language services at St Albans Abbey and other venues in and around St Albans and Luton.

Our congregation now consist of all generations, from Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and further afield.

Many young German-speaking families live in the area and take part in our community.

We also take care of the German-speaking people of the older generation, who appreciate our visits.

You are warmly invited to join our services and events, usually on the last Tuesday of each month in the Lady Chapel of the Abbey; and on the second Saturday in St Mary’s Church in Marshalswick (with regular children’s service). Please check this website or our Facebook page for current dates and events.
