We have German congregations in St. Albans, in St. Mary's near St. Pancras, in the Bonhoeffer Church in Sydenham, with services and meetings also taking place in Canterbury, Haywards Heath and Guildford - we are looking forward to seeing you!

Statement

As the London East pastoral region – in which Bonhoeffer served and where his legacy and memory remain alive, where the church in Sydenham, whose congregation he pastored, bears his name, and where people are very aware of his heritage – we join with the entire Synod in supporting the petition by the International Bonhoeffer Society as well as the open letter from the Bonhoeffer family.

We strongly condemn the appropriation and distortion of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's legacy by political movements that misuse his Christian message for nationalistic or violent purposes. Bonhoeffer's call for peace and reconciliation must not be instrumentalized for ideological interests.
